The mayor of Águilas, Mari Carmen Moreno, and the councilors of Town Planning and Service Providers, Tomás Consentino and Isabel Fernández, respectively, visited yesterday the green area of ​​Los Collados where the first phase of the landscape regeneration project has just concluded that is being carried out in the area and that contemplates an integral action in an area of ​​more than 15,000 meters.
This first phase, which has just concluded, has included the preparation and preparation of the land, the implementation of a systematized irrigation system and the planting of 122 trees of native species from the Mediterranean area.
It is expected that the second phase will begin next April, which contemplates the implantation of shrubs and the formation of rock chips.
It is worth remembering that this important project, the result of a process of citizen participation, since the neighbors themselves, through different neighborhood meetings, will be responsible for determining the needs of the area, as well as creating trails and recreational areas equipped with equipment and furniture;
the creation of a playground for children;
the establishment of leisure areas, outdoor sports and games of petanque;
and the creation of a canine recreation area.
