The mayor of Águilas, Mari Carmen Moreno, the mayor of Environment, Isabel María Torrente, and other members of the Municipal Corporation as well as numerous friends and family of David Aparicio Castrillo, recently deceased, participated last Saturday in a tribute day at the that, among other acts, the first Community Ecological Garden of the town was inaugurated, baptized as "The Garden of David".
During the ceremony, the mayor of Environment highlighted the great work done by this agricultural engineer in the town, underlining their collaboration in numerous research activities, teaching and sustainable development.
After the inauguration of the orchard began, under the title "Project and Dreams with David", a total of seven papers on sustainable projects with the participation of Domingo Jiménez Beltrán, president of Castillo de Chuecos;
Francisco Robledano, coordinator of the Protected Areas Master of the UMU;
José María Egea, Professor of Botany at the UMU;
Fernando González, partner of Ecoagrícola Talayón;
Álvaro Garrido, beekeeper from Campo Miel;
Juan Molina, director of Casa Pareja;
and the architect María Medina.
The end of the day was marked by the performances of the D'AKOKAN batucada and TeyDe Theater School, musical performances, Power Point projection, Graffiti, DJ's and exhibition of ecological products.
