The Socialist mayor of Health of the City of Águilas, Rosalía Casado, has once again expressed concern about the "precarious health situation that the citizens of Águilas are living and which translates, according to his words, into eternal waiting lists, which for years , they exceed the limits allowed by Law, both for the first consultation of specialties and for surgical interventions in the Rafael Méndez hospital, reference center of our municipality ".
Married has lamented that the blocking of medical agendas, closed for many specialties, translates for the aquilines "in the desperate wait for an appointment that never comes";
This is linked to "the lack of human and technical endowment of the Rafael Méndez Hospital, as well as the fact that the Health Area III, to which the municipality of Águilas belongs, has the worst ratios in the Region for all aquilines. discriminatory treatment in sanitary matters, something that is demonstrated in the fact that for an external consultation they should wait an average of 118, 04 days when according to the own autonomic legislation it would have to be of 50 days ".
The person in charge of the area of Health, figures in hand, has reported that of the 22,073 patients in the Region who do not have an appointment for a consultation with a specialist, 40% corresponds to the Rafael Méndez Hospital, on which the aquilines depend.
