The Mayor of Águilas, Mari Carmen Moreno, visited this morning with the local development councilor, Ginés Desiderio Navarro, to the working students of the Employment and Training Joint Program "Green Belt around the Eagles and others bypass, Phase I "
Moreno and Navarro have visited the garden area opposite the Mercado Semanal where, at this moment, an important action is being carried out aimed at creating a large green lung in the aforementioned space.
The first aquiline mayor stressed that in the performance, for which the City has made an investment of 14,000 euros, have performed cleaning tasks, measurements and alignments for planting, and installation and burial of the irrigation system.
In this same action has proceeded to the installation of an automatic irrigation head, as well as the planting of a central area of ​​trees that will be incorporated another perimeter fence to the bike path and two others with carob groves.
Once completed the work, this large green lung will have a central area of ​​trees composed of 28 units of Hackberry (Celtis australis), 36 units of Lagunaria patersonii, 26 units of Callistemon, 35 units of Jacaranda and 46 units of Laurel (Laurus Nobilis) that have been combined based on the growth of each of the species, its coloration and its expiration or not of leaf, generating a mass of shade in the hot seasons and with light and aeration in the cold season.
With regard to the hedge, this will be composed of 48 units of Baladre fuchsia, 36 units of Baladre white and 156 units of Lantana Spanish flag camera with a sequence of planting is linear;
This structure is intended to create a line with color diversity throughout the year, alternating areas where the baladre acts as a visual and sound screen and interspersed with lantana zones that allow viewing and surveillance from the outside.
It should be noted that this area of ​​hedge will be interrupted at the height of the pedestrian crossing that crosses from the weekly market area, allowing pedestrian access as well as at the ends of the plot to allow access to light vehicles.
