"From the municipality of Águilas we want to take advantage of this day, once again, to make visible the work and effort of so many women who, individually and collectively, fight from different areas to ensure that women and men enjoy the same opportunities. also the moment to remember that equality requires a permanent commitment and work that must also be an expression of the sum of wills and actions of public authorities, civil society organizations and citizens ".
With these words concluded the institutional manifesto that this morning, on the occasion of International Women's Day, was read in the aquiline Consistory by various representatives of the municipal Corporation among which were the mayor of Águilas, Mari Carmen Moreno, and the mayor of Equality, Isabel María Torrente.
But the reading of this manifesto has not been the only act with which the City wanted to commemorate a day in which a large number of women have decided to "stand."
Thus the day has begun with the performance of the batukada that under the slogan "A better world" has played its percussion against gender inequality.
Later the students of the reading and writing workshop of the Women's Center have taken the floor and transformed it into a song to demand a more egalitarian world.
The student and associative collective of the town has also wanted to be present this day with the performance Heartbeat in Equality.
