Mari Carmen Moreno, Mayor and Roberto Fuentes, Area Manager of Ecovidrio, delivered this morning in the press room of the Águilas City Hall, the three lots of products from the land that were raffled among all the hoteliers who committed themselves to the recycling of glass containers during the Carnival.
During this campaign, in the downtown area of ​​the municipality, where there is more festive activity, 7,000 kg of glass have been recovered.
The initiative, which was developed during the Carnivals of Águilas, consisted of an awareness campaign aimed especially at hoteliers and festeros.
During the holidays, several ecopatrols, have visited the establishments and have encouraged the hoteliers to recycle glass containers, as during these holidays there is a notable increase in the amount of glass packaging waste generated.
In addition, all the festeros were encouraged to recycle glass containers and they were explained the importance of recycling this type of packaging and the environmental advantages that this produces.
Moreno affirms that "they are very positive data, which place the municipality above the average of glass recycling, reaffirming the awareness of neighbors by recycling".
