This weekend the central events of the twenty-fourth edition of the Farmer's Party, organized by the association of Agricultores de Aguilas-Asaja with the collaboration of the City of Aguilas, were held in the Cope Marina.
The events began last week with a concentration of old vehicles in the vicinity of the Cope Cinema, contest of chinitos and trip to the Bloom of Cieza.
On Saturday the farmer's mass was celebrated in the chapel of the San Francisco residence and then the dinner fellowship in the restaurant "El Tiburón" with the attendance of 150 people including the mayor, Mª Carmen Moreno, the secretary of Asaja Murcia, Alfonso Gálvez, the president of the Association, José Martinez, and the Minister of Agriculture, Francisco Jódar.
After the dinner took place the choice of the Farmer of the Year, title that fell Pedro Soler Robles de Agricola Soler and children.
The association also recognized the work of Joaquín Costa, who held the position of chief investigator of the IMIDA horticulture team.
On Sunday, the day began with a soccer championship at the "La Marina" Field of the teams that make up the Cope-Playas de Águilas Marine Soccer School, as well as a bicycle ride for the little ones.
The central act was held at 12.00 with the XXIV Concurso de migas in which 64 pans participated and which finally made Jennifer Expósito Collado the winner.
The events on the occasion of the Farmer's Party will end next Sunday with a hiking trail through the "Cuesta Gos" spot.
