Maintaining the municipal cemetery in optimal conditions is still one of the lines of work of the Government Team of the Águilas City Council, aware of the significance that the local cemetery has for the aquiline.
In this sense, the mayor of the area, Isabel Fernandez, has always been clear: "the maintenance of the cemetery can not be limited to embellish it only when the All Saints' Feast is coming in. It is important that every day of the year present an image taken care of, in keeping with the respect that for most aquilines deserves the place where many of their loved ones are. "
Thus, the largest works that have been carried out to date have been added a daily Maintenance Plan that includes actions of masonry and cleaning.
"In the last week there have been numerous repairs that have been made on some sidewalks that were damaged" - explains the mayor.
Likewise, 300 seasonal ornamental plants have been planted, mainly geraniums, which will fill the streets of the cemetery with color.
