This initiative is born from the collaboration between the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Environment and the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Murcia for students to reflect in their works different natural areas of the Region of Murcia, linking art and natural environment.
"The result is exhibitions in which students move to the urban environment, in this case the Artillery Barracks of Murcia, their works based on natural spaces.
It is another way of making the population aware of the richness and beauty of our protected natural spaces, "said Rosauro.
The Cuatro Calas Protected Landscape is located at the southern end of the regional coast, occupying the last territories of the Region of Murcia on its border with Andalusia.
It is declared as a Protected Natural Area with the category of Protected Landscape (Law 4/1992 on the Regulation and Protection of the Territory of the Region of Murcia) and Site of Community Importance forming part of the Natura 2000 Network.
The geological conditions that occur in the area grant a great geological and botanical diversity.
In these lands plant communities that are part of types of habitats of community interest, such as Mediterranean salt steppes or areas of grasses and annuals of Thero-Brachypodietea as priority habitats to be highlighted, are installed.
