Aquiline Passion Week lived one of its most awaited moments last Thursday night by the hand of Emilio Andrés Sánchez Espín, rector of the Basilica of Vera Cruz de Caravaca and in charge of offering the proclamation of Holy Week.
The one who was the parish priest of Águilas for just over five years picked up the baton from Juanjo Berenguer to offer a proclamation full of references to the Easter week.
All the Steps and Brotherhoods were reflected in the words of this aquiline of heart that assured "feeling at home" each time it returns to land of columbine.
With verses by Santa Teresa and Miguel Hernández, Sánchez Espín managed to imbue Pasión with the proclamation of a festivity in which, he said, "it is essential not to forget what we are celebrating."
The act concluded with the delivery of a plaque by the president of the Cabildo de Cofradías, José Cáceres, and the imposition of the coat of arms of the city by the mayor, Mari Carmen Moreno.
