Citizens received numerous complaints at the end of January from neighbors and merchants who carry out their activity both in the interior and in the vicinity of the Plaza de Abastos.
Those affected complained, for the most part, of the improvisation in the reforms of the interior: Would there be a separation between the leisure area and posts?
Would it be a gate, a small wall of work, it would be open during the day and closed outside the opening hours?
They also expressed their laments for the elimination of parking lots, taking over one or two premises of that space.
The lack of transparency and communication of the responsible councilor and the Mayor who, together with other neighbors with less aggressive reforms, has brought them together to explain the project, but not to those of the Plaza de Abastos.
A month after its opening, the problems, instead of resolving, stagnate and gain weight, provoking criticism from neighbors and merchants.
According to the complaints received, it is almost a constant to see trucks and delivery vans parked in C / Balart, occupying up to three parking lots with the loss of the use of those spaces.
It is also common to observe trailers that are left standing blocking the loading and unloading area or pedestrian crossings, vans that go up to the tables area and even mopeds parked inside the Plaza de Abastos, where later people will sit down to eat.
A chaos of images that will also see the many tourists who visit us taking a very poor image of municipal management.

When our merchants most need the support of the City Council and measures that encourage consumption and facilitate access to shopping areas, we damage them with projects of very doubtful efficacy such as this reform of the Plaza de Abastos.
As if that were not enough, we canceled the few parking lots available and condemned trucks and delivery vans to have to violate traffic regulations to be able to unload in a place that, before being reformed by this Government Team, and for many years manage well without causing inconvenience to neighbors or harm adjacent businesses.
Citizens Eagles is in favor of progress and look forward and we hope that the City Council will take action on this problem and not leave our merchants and our neighbors of the Plaza de Abastos abandoned to their fate.
Therefore, we will request in writing that appropriate measures be taken to resolve these problems.
