During the past weekend, has taken place in Eagles, the annual fishing competition, the association "Villa of Eagles" has been held with great success in participation and this year, was serving his twenty-fifth edition.
The competition, which took place Saturday night is 7 to Sunday 8 August, had at first, with the participation of over forty pairs of fishermen, although the strong easterly winds that hit the coast hawk, in the spot traditional celebration of the event (between Sisco and the Tower of Cope), left the number of participants in just over half.
At half past eight on Sunday, took place the act of weighing of the catch, at the premises of the Bar Bassel, headquarters of the Association, with fishermen in our region and the neighboring Andalusia and Valencia.
The champions of the "Sport Fishing Contest XXV Villa Eagles' trophy counts as the eagle symbol of our city, was the pairing of Pedro Leiva López and Antonio Gomez Ortega, second, left, and Francisco José Pérez Gallego Gallego Pérez, and thirdly, fishermen and Abellán Antonio Morales Antonio Morales Sanchez, father and son.
Increased number of pieces, was for the runners, Francisco José Gallego and Gallego, and the trophy for the most part, went to third with a catch of 930 grams.
The award ceremony was chaired by the Mayor of Aguilas, Juan Ramírez Soto, accompanied by the Deputy Mayor, Juan Perez Garcia and Councilman Francisco Hernandez Terrones sports.
