The Assembly Local Red Cross has chosen the 8 members who will represent your committee during the next 4 years.
An electoral process has been one of the most important developments within the internal organization of the Spanish Red Cross.
Throughout its 147 year history, the organization has evolved to meet the needs of a changing society.
The democratic process in Red Cross was one of the most significant transformations, and came after the Transition, in 1985.
This phase ended in 1988 with the publication of the statutes and the General Rules of Professional Institution.
A year later, the partners and the Spanish Red Cross volunteers participated in the first elections and had the opportunity to elect and be elected as representatives of the institution, a process that opened the door to a more open participation of the people who make the Spanish Red Cross bases.
This process will be and 5 the number of elections that has seen the institution.
In each local assembly have been elected 8 members representing their respective committees during the next 4 years.
Since then, the elected members of local committees will begin a staged process to renew the regional and national management teams.

The culmination of the entire democratic process ends with the celebration of the VIII General Assembly, scheduled for 25, 26 and March 27, 2011.
The highest governing body of the Spanish Red Cross, composed of 353 members (263 elected and 90 ex officio), elect a chairman or president and the members of the governing bodies.
