The new Multipurpose Hall, whose construction works are nearing completion, will be named "City of Eagles."
The name was approved by the City Council, held last night at the session aquiline, with favorable votes, the Popular Party and the Working Group and the votes against: PSOE, IU, and Masdar.
According to the Team, this infrastructure is one of the most important civil works of recent years in our town and its location in a strategic location along the ring road and behind the sports center, the only visible entering the city.
Municipal spokeswoman, Kitty Lawrence, said that one of the main reasons for the choice of "City of Eagles" is that the building will serve as venue for various events (cultural, sports, etc.), So this designation includes all citizens and the various expressions of society hooked.
Moreover, the councilman of Youth and Sports, Francisco Hernandez, wanted to refer to the name "Diego Calvo Valera" proposed by the opposition, for whom the mayor expressed his personal appreciation and described as "a large aquiline and promoter of sport" and like other great local athletes who have garnered international success, deserves recognition for all, so do not rule out this designation to other facilities "sport-specific."
However, Hernandez said that all athletes in particular, and the aquiline as a whole, will be represented by the nickname "City of Eagles", to be used beyond our borders and branding of sports and local culture.
The Multipurpose Hall City of Eagles "is set in a town of 17,790 m2 plot, occupying a total area of 5,260 m2 and has a cost of nearly four million euros, provided by the City of Eagle and the Autonomous Community of Murcia.
The building, clad in perforated steel plate and large windows, has changing rooms, toilets, cafeteria and additional areas.
The capacity of 900 spectators in stands and is equipped with multi stage, where you can develop all kinds of cultural events.
The facilities also have gym, sauna, massage room and a sports court, among other equipment.
Under the cover, with a height of 10 meters, is the playing field, three basketball courts arranged transversely.
