A device of the Spanish Red Cross in the Region of Murcia composed of more than 50 volunteers are attending the 500 people at the Municipal Sports Union.
These people were evicted from their homes in the village of Portman as a precaution against the threat of fire.
Red Cross has assisted in the transfer and the immediate attention of these people during the last night by 3 BLS ambulances, 2 Rapid Intervention Vehicles, 2 and 3 ATV vehicles fitted with large capacity.
Currently, Red Cross volunteers have been provided for the displaced 100 beds in a ward that has air conditioning.
These beds are designed for those who need rest, especially children and the elderly, after living in the last hours.
This is a temporary rest area to proceed to eviction of the sports ground and people can return to their homes.
If not, volunteers are prepared to enable other areas, should be given the possibility that those affected must spend in the sports.
Similarly, Red Cross volunteers come to the distribution of food, beverages, hygiene kits, kits to care for those affected babies etc, from the collaboration agreement signed between Red Cross and Fundación Solidaridad Carrefour.
Similarly, 16 volunteers from Red Cross Youth, from the Union and Cartagena are developing recreational and educational activities for more than 60 children / as they are now in the sports arena of the Union.
