On the occasion of the commemoration of the "World Day for Breast Cancer", the local board of the Spanish Association Against Cancer, in collaboration with the Department of Health of the City of Eagle, has set up an information table at the Plaza of Spain, where have conducted an awareness campaign aimed at the prevention and detection of the disease.
Throughout the morning, the president of the association, Soledad Sanchez, accompanied by different partners, leaflets have been distributed among the citizenry.
The mayor of Health, Ana Maria Miñarro, who visited the booth along with several councilors of the Municipal Corporation, has stressed the importance of women come to be appropriate medical tests, to detect the disease at a stage where it can be properly treated, for the speedy recovery of the patient.
Miñarro specially invited women between 50 and 69 years of age, regular mammograms, as the Department of Public Health, conducted since 1994 a Programme for the Prevention of Breast Cancer with the purpose of providing an early diagnosis.
The Mobile Unit will be at the Eagles 15 to 25 November.
This year also the incident of Lorca, women who are living in our town, mammograms can be Eagles.
Similarly, women aged 45 to 49 years should be directed to the local board of the Spanish Association Against Cancer, if they wish to be tested.
