The Castle 'San Juan de las Aguilas' keeps the number of visits in 2011 with 14,500 tourists (12/01/2012)

The Archaeological Museum increases its turnover by more than 1,700 people, reaching 6255 visitors.

The Department of Culture and Heritage has provided statistical data today the number of visitors who had the castle "San Juan de las Aguilas" in 2011, a figure similar to the previous year, amounting to 14,529 people.

Of these, 5502 are from different parts of the Region of Murcia, 6121 and other regions and 2906 in different countries.

Referring to domestic tourists from other regions, include the: Madrid (1749), followed by Andalusia (1383), Catalan (862), Valencia (795), Castilian Mancha (352) and Castilian Leon (341).

Another significant finding is that references to foreign visitors, led by the British (885), increasing by nearly 200 people from last year, followed by French (736) and Germans (444).

The councilman of Culture and Heritage, Francisco Miguel Martínez, said that "most valued by tourists on their visit to the Castle, has been the stunning views that are visible from the museum and interpretive center of the city, located within this historical monument of the second half of the eighteenth century. "

On the other hand, the Archaeological Museum of Eagles has grown from 4501 visits in 2010-6255 in 2011.

These have been distributed as follows: local (1043), regional (1852), national (3085) and international (275).

International tourists are distributed percentage as in the previous case: British, French and German, in that order.

However, the origin of the domestic visitors varies with respect to the Castle "San Juan de las Aguilas."

The highest percentage corresponds to the Castilian Leonese, with a total of 783 people, followed by Catalonia with 623.

Finally, the mayor of Culture and Heritage reported that there have been some changes in timetables and fares for local museum centers, optimizing resources and supply, highlighting the free visits to the Archaeological Museum, a range of schedule Castle and the establishment of arranged visits to the Museum of Carnival, Roman Baths and Mill Hopper, the latter permanent opening hours on weekends.
