At its meeting this morning, the proposal of the Minister of Economy and Competitiveness, Luis de Guindos Jurado, the Council of Ministers approved a Royal Decree appointing Director of Research Management and National R + D + Juan María Vázquez Rojas.

Born in 1964 in Aguilas (Murcia), married with two children, Juan Maria Vazquez is a graduate in Veterinary Science from the University of Murcia, where he currently is Professor of Medicine and Animal Surgery.

Expert in technologies applied to animal reproduction, has participated in about thirty research projects and contracts, and is author of numerous international publications in specialty journals and two patent families.

He is currently vice president of research at the University of Murcia and overall project coordinator Mare Nostrum Campus 37/38.

Since 2008 participates in the executive committee of the sectoral R & D of the Conference of Rectors of Spanish Universities (CRUE), which is executive secretary.
