The NGO has set up a booth in the Plaza of Spain, in collaboration with the Department of Social Services.
The nongovernmental organization "Manos Unidas", in collaboration with the Department of Social Services City of Eagle, has installed a booth in the Plaza of Spain to mark the Day of Fasting Volunteer.
For four hours, the NGO has offered to citizens snacks of bread, oil and tomatoes, the price of two euros, and conducted a joint raffle, with the intention to raise funds to help continue their social work.
Both the mayor of Social Services, Ana Maria Miñarro, as the delegate of Manos Unidas in the Parish of San Jose, Maria Dolores Garcia stressed that since the creation of this organization, in 1960, the work of Manos Unidas has focused on two objectives:
Awareness about the reality of so-called Third World countries, inviting the social commitment to the world's poorest.
Financing development projects in Africa, America and Asia.
These are mostly focused on education, health, agriculture, and social advancement of women.
