The imporancia to consolidate our region in the center of the Mediterranean Corridor has been the main topic, and the possibility of having an intermodal station in one of its municipalities.
Mayors and councilors from different localities have attended a conference today on FERRMED, which was held in the Auditorium and Congress Centre "Infanta Elena" Eagles, organized by the Friends of the Railroad "The Labradorcico".
Among those in attendance were the mayors of: Eagles, Bartolome Hernandez Cuevas del Almanzora, Jesus Caicedo, Pulpí, Juan Pedro Garcia, Baza, Peter Fernandez and councilors: Puerto Lumbreras, Cantoria, Baza, Pulpí and Eagles.
The conference has been made by the Secretary General of FERRMED, Joan Amoros and Professor Francisco Garcia.
During the course of it, have highlighted the importance of strengthening our region in the center of the Mediterranean Corridor, to provide more competitive products and the possibility of having an intermodal station in one of its municipalities.
FERRMED is a non-profit, multi-sectoral, which was officially incorporated and registered in Brussels on August 5, 2004.
It was created at the initiative of business, to contribute to: improving European competitiveness through the promotion of so-called "Standards FERRMED" empowering connections of ports and airports with their "hinterlands" Drive major railway freight "Scandinavia-Rhine-Rhone-Western Mediterranean" as a more sustainable development, through reducing pollution and emissions of gases that affect climate change.
