The local chief executive, Bartolome Hernandez Gimenez, closed last night at the Hall of Mirrors at the Casino de Aguilas, the commemoration of World Consumer Rights.
The event was embraced by numerous public and attended by various councilors of the Municipal Corporation, among whom were the mayor of own consumption, Ana Maria Miñarro.
The event included a talk on "Basic consumer rights in Spain and in the Region of Murcia", by counsel for the OMIC, Pio Perez Laserna, and the traditional cake contest, which this year celebrates its fifteenth edition, organized in collaboration with the Association of Housewives, Consumers and Users "Our Lady of Sorrows" by Eagles.
As indicated by the president of this group of women columbines, Maruja Jerez, more than twenty cakes yesterday participated in this "Sweet Contest" which awarded the following prizes:
Better Taste: Rosario Lopez.
Most Original: Isabel Toledo.
Best Presentation: Ana Ibarra.
