The former mayors of both cities, Bartolome Hernandez and Sanchez-Jauregui Marienna have maintained a working meeting in the Consistory aquiline, which have agreed to develop a series of joint activities related to tourism.
Taking advantage of the visit of the Mayor of Ibiza, Marienna Jauregui Sanchez-Martinez, the town of Aguilas, to offer the Proclamation of Easter 2012, the local chief executive, Bartolome Hernandez Gimenez and his namesake have held a working meeting, in the Consistory aquiline, which have agreed to carry out a series of joint projects between the two cities.
Speaking to the media, Bartolome Hernandez and Sanchez-Jauregui Marienna have emphasized the harmony between them, since they met at the last International Tourism Fair of Madrid (FITUR 2012).
As the mayors have reported, one of the first actions will initiate proceedings for the twinning of Ibiza and Eagles, given that Sanchez-Jauregui's hometown Eagles and the two cities have much in common: the sea, its seafaring tradition or a mutual interest in the projection of the two tourist destinations, among others.
Precisely the tourism sector will be the focus of a series of meetings between the two administrations, which will exchange experience and joint initiatives be designed to help stimulate the flow of tourists.
