Official data "ECOVIDRIO" indicate that the amount of glass collected in Eagles in 2011 was 657,860 Kilos, representing an increase of 6'81% from the year 2010.
According to Councilman Cleaning and Environment, Isidro Carrasco, "this increase reflects the interest of the citizens of Eagles by the collection, the collaboration of the hospitality industry as a major contribution and good work of environmental policies in the municipality" .
Similarly, monthly progress reports indicate that the collection of glass during the month of August 2011 was the largest amount recorded on Eagles in the last five years, with 102,670 Kilos, like the month of February 2011, which is the statistic most often used to estimate the seasonal population of the year, which indicates a large increase, with a total collection of 50,300 Kilos.
Isidro Carrasco noted that the number of containers in the town of Aguilas is around 190, fulfilling the ratio of a container with volume of 3,000 liters every 182 inhabitants.
