Civil Guard officers in the Region of Murcia have been seized in the town of Aguilas, 83 kilos of tuna ("Thunnus thynnus") and 120 kilos of common octopus ("Octopus vulgaris"), for breaking the rules on sea ​​fishing.
The incident took place after the isothermal agents inspect a truck traveling on the local road RM-333, which connects the town of Aguilas to the province of Almeria, and carrying copies of both fish species without labeling or documentation credited, as required, it passes through auction and therefore, its legal capture and traceability.
Moreover, in the case of bluefin tuna, it was found as none of the copies shipped complied with the rules on minimum size regulations (popularly known as the "pezqueñines"), since none of them reached the required weight 30 kilos .
The merchandise was seized as part of the checkpoints of the transport of fish that the Civil Guard is taking place in various parts of the Region of Murcia.
It so happens that the driver had already been inspected previously reported by the Department of Nature Conservation for similar breaches.
The fish have been declared not fit for consumption by an inspector of the Ministry of Health, was presented at the Center for Wildlife Recovery "The Valley".
The facts, constitute an administrative violation of legislation on sea fisheries have been reported to the Directorate General of Livestock and Fisheries of the Ministry of Agriculture and Water of the Autonomous Community of Murcia.
