The planned activities have been linked with the history and manufacture of esparto and its importance in economic growth and development of the city.
Linking Eagles esparto industry and its importance in the growth and economic development of the city, was the theme chosen this year by the Department of Culture and Heritage of the Consistory aquiline to commemorate the "International Museum Day".
Throughout the weekend, hundreds of people have joined the events planned by the City of Eagle, centered mainly in the Archaeological Museum, which has hosted a photo exhibition of Juan Hernandez on the esparto and other craft, made by the esparteros : José Piñero, Salvador Calvo, Antonio Navarro Virginio Lajarín, accompanied by explanatory talks and projections, given by Antonio Mena, author of the model which includes as formerly worked in this office, and Peter, Bartholomew and Diego Roman and Pedro Galvez Roman Jimenez (The Mori), traditional family dedicated to the plaiting hooked.
One of the most striking and followed by citizens was the demonstration of esparto rope making raking spinners by Asensio and Pedro Bernardo Roman, in the Plaza of Spain, which was attended by the Councillor for Culture and Heritage, Francisco Miguel Martinez and local archaeologist, Juan de Dios Hernández, who collaborated in the process of making ropes.
