The Colony Beach has hosted all week various workshops "Learning on the Beach", which this year reached its sixth edition.
These workshops are a pioneering initiative of the Assembly Local Red Cross Eagles that has been transferred to other Assemblies of Murcia and neighboring communities such as Valencia.
The purpose of them is aware from childhood to the smallest of the basic rules to enjoy a safe summer.
To do this, Monitors Training Department of Eagles Red Cross, supported by volunteers from the Departments of Health and Relief & Salvage, moving with Rescue Vehicle First Responders Group request from Schools to the beaches the municipality.
Coinciding with the celebration of a feast day before the holiday period and accompanied by their parents and teachers, the kids followed carefully the explanations of self-protection and basic safety on the beaches.
Among them, how to protect from high temperatures, respect the rest after lunch, knowing the meaning of the colors of the flag and identify the stations Red Cross First Aid and location for treatment if necessary.
Since its inception in the summer of 2007, about 2,500 school Cycles and Primary Schools of the Eagles, as well as young people move to the city to participate in camps organized by organizations like the Club Nautico de Aguilas have participated as students in the workshops.
