The Cultural Hall Cajamurcia hosted last night on Thursday, August 9, the launch of "3052 Buying the Cow" of Senegalese living in Murcia, Mamadou Dia.
This publication tells the story in first person, of an immigrant who like many other young people in Africa one day make the decision to board a canoe to undertake the grueling journey that will take you to the Canary Islands and the subsequent adventure of becoming a and reset a new life in Spain.
Mamadou Dia, who has spent six years in Spain, has titled his book "3052" as a reminder of the distance from the city where he lived, Dakar, and his place of residence, in Monteagudo (Murcia).
The publication traces the journey of 8 long days by canoe to reach Spanish soil, the reality of a dream that the protagonist makes as nice as possible, but which also raises many reflections.
The book, which is priced at 5 euros, has become a charity project that aims to fund a farm in his hometown, Gandiol, in northern Senegal.
It can be purchased in bookstores across Murcia and the Web: www.proyecto3052km.com
According to Mamadou "this will ensure a working farm for ten parents and their profits will go to subsidize the education of children."
The presentation of the book in Aguilas was chaired by Councillor for Youth, Juan José Asensio, who said "reading these pages it will be very revealing and will help to make an exercise of reflection on our own lives and about the world that together we are building. "
