The mayor of Eagle, Bartolome Hernandez Gimenez, closed yesterday Lecture XVII "Looking to the Sea", which was held from 2 to 16 August in the Auditorium and Congress Centre "Infanta Elena", bringing together a total of four lectures.
The event was attended by numerous public and various authorities, among which were: Juan Maria Vazquez, former coordinator of the cycle and current Director of Science Policy of the Ministry of Education, Francisco Miguel Martínez, Councillor for Culture and Heritage, and Francisco Navarro, mayor of Agriculture, Fisheries and Livestock, among other councilors of the Municipal Corporation, as well as coordinator of the cycle, José Asensio, or the official chronicler of the town, Luis Diaz, who did not want to miss the closing lecture, entitled "The undersea continental margin aquiline "which was given by Juan Acosta aquiline Yepes, researcher at the Spanish Institute of Oceanography
The Lecture "Looking to the Sea" is framed within the training program that the International University of the Sea Eagles held every summer and this year included the following talks:
Thursday 2 August: "The trip to the moon to the ocean floor: Magic and fantasy films of Georges Melies," by Thomas Joaquin Belchí Canovas, Professor of Art History at the University of Murcia.
Tuesday, August 7: "Why our earth trembles? Tectonic context Guadalentín Valley, Sierra de Almenara and Aguilas Basin," with Juan Antonio Lopez Martin, Professor of Secondary Education specializing in Biology and Geology, in the IES Ramón Arcas Mecca of Lorca, and member of the Spanish Association for the Teaching of Earth Sciences.
Thursday August 9, "From the Atacama Desert Eagles: The conservation of the flora of arid areas", by Juan Francisco Mota Poveda, Professor of Botany at the University of Almería and member of the Spanish Society for Conservation Biology Plant.
Thursday, August 16: "The undersea continental margin aquiline" with John Acosta Yepes, researcher at the Spanish Institute of Oceanography.
