The regional coordinator of IU-Greens in Murcia, José Antonio Pujante, presented today at a press conference at the new Councillor of that organization in the City of Eagle, Maria Isabel Torrente, succeeding Miguel Antonio Carrasco after he presented his resignation.
Torrente, born in 1979 and Eagles hairdresser and beautician by profession, has defined this new challenge as "an enriching experience" facing "forward" and expressed his "total" willingness to work in defense of the interests of citizens the municipality.
The new mayor explained that his life experience has always been linked to the United Left, an organization which he described as "honest and brave, which aims to work for the rights of citizens, social justice and equality ".
Meanwhile, Carrasco said that his resignation "is due to the natural renewal every game should be", and assured that not withdraw from politics, because last June was elected in the municipal assembly as coordinator, a position he had never exercised.
The outgoing councilor, who thanked the support of the citizenry, has indicated that in his 17 years as mayor in the City of Eagle has presented nearly a thousand initiatives, among which highlighted the construction of a bike path and the other relating to the viewpoint of Pico de L 'Aguilica.
The regional coordinator of IU-Greens, Jose Antonio Pujante, highlighted the work of Carrasco in the control and reporting of cases of corruption and illegal development, such as La Zerrichera and apartment hotels on the hills in the urbanization "The Collados-Zieschang".
After extolling the "effort" of urban development Carrasco against "excessive" Pujante Torrente said that "will ensure continuity of work" performed by the curriculum Eagles.
