The Councillor for Health and Aging City of Eagles, Ana Maria Miñarro, visited the Physiotherapy Unit Municipal Center on Aging.
Following his visit, the mayor reported that this unit works Monday through Thursday, from 9:00 to 12'00 hours, surpassing the 2,600 annual physiotherapy sessions, spread over more than 200 users, plus another 100 people attending aquatherapy classes, the Wednesday afternoon.
The physiotherapist Senior Center, Albarracín Francisco Garcia, said that the most common pathologies that lead to partners to use this service are arthritic processes, with treatments in the spine, hips and knees, the most popular .
According Albarracin, also treated degenerative aspects of various kinds, using physical therapy as a way to stop them and increase the quality of life of the elderly, as well as acute conditions such as sprains, muscle problems or inflammation, which also gives response in Physiotherapy Unit.
Finally, Miñarro noted that recently acquired a combined set of electrotherapy and ultrasound, hydraulic stretcher, tens equipment and a paraffin bath, in addition to the existing equipment in order to ensure the best outcome in this service.
