The councilors of Education, Environment and Youth participated in this week's activity, along with students from different schools.
Students of the school program "Coastal Eco-schools" have been held this week at Eagles environmental action, involving the planting of 150 pine trees in different parts of the town.
This is one of the new initiatives on the agenda promoted by the Department of Education and aquiline consistory Yacht Club, which this year celebrates its tenth edition.
Before planting, the monitors have made a training workshop in the classroom, where they explained the importance of green spaces for the environment in which we live.
Next, the students have learned the basic steps to condition soil and planting conduct and basic care for the maintenance of the trees.
The councilors of Education, Youth and Environment, Francisco Clemente, Juan Isidro Carrasco and José Asensio, respectively, have visited the school during the course of the activity, which reported that "every tree is identified with the student who plant as an important part of this action is to involve families that track tree along the course, in order to get it to grow healthy and strong. "
In "Coastal Eco-Schools" involved more than 200 students from 3 ° to 5 ° of Primary Education, to which they are taught the importance of appreciating the values ​​that enrich the town, its coastline and its diversity, to act with respect, by understanding of the environment in which we live.
These objectives are achieved through guided tours of the cultural and natural heritage of Eagles, supplemented by educational activities at the Centre.
Another aim of the program is that children know the link that has the sea eagles, they know what were the beginnings of the city and how to care for it by developing a relationship with the natural habitat and contributing actively in the protection, preservation and improvement environment.
