This morning we have carried out the main events of the commemoration of the bicentennial of the first Constitutional Eagles Hall, established on December 8, 1812.
Therefore, at 11.00 hours, held an extraordinary plenary session at the Guildhall aquiline, which was attended by some of the members who were part of ancient municipal corporations.
During the plenary emotional, the municipal archivist, Pepi Navarro, has read the minutes chapter of the constitution of the first town hall, followed by a few touches of historical official chronicler of the town, Luis Diaz Martinez.
The plenary session ended with the words of the head of the local executive, Bartolomé Hernández Giménez, which has referred in his speech to the first Spanish Constitution of 1812, passed in the Cortes of Cadiz, in which Article 310 obliged to put in those municipalities populations with more than 1,000 people do not have, allowing form the first independent municipal government, ceasing to be a district of Lorca.
Hernandez was "proud to be celebrating an event of such importance and not to miss the historic opportunity to honor Eagles, paying homage to those ancestors that just 200 years ago came together to form the first Municipal Corporation of Eagles."
The mayor ended his speech by saying that "now is a good time to value our past, which all share aquiline, and that it not be forgotten, because what we are today and what this city can become, it will always be related to what once were ".
After the plenary session, authorities and citizens have turned to the entrance of the consistory aquiline, where the mayor has proceeded to uncover a commemorative plaque which reads "The City and the town of Aguilas recalling with great gratitude to Prime Constitutional City, December 8, 1812, on the bicentennial of his proclamation. Eagles, December 8, 2012 ".
The historic journey ended with a family photo who have posed for the components of all corporations attended the event, along with other guests.
Thus, a closed Eagles events began last weekend with the opening of the exhibition "1812-2012. A tour of the documents kept in the Municipal Archives," on display in almost a hundred manuscripts while it has published a book written especially for the occasion by the official chronicler of the town, which gathers texts, drawings, photographs and other documents that show a significant portion of these two hundred years of aquiline consistory and a space dedicated to the previous centuries.
