The Eagles Casino last night hosted a public event to celebrate the completion of the restoration work that has been under for nearly two years, which have affected both inside and outside the building.
Mayor Eagles, Bartolomé Hernández, and the president of the Cultural Association of Eagles Casino, Asensio Rodriguez, along with other local authorities and guests visited the different departments to check the state in which they were left in their rehabilitation.
The cost of the work was around 250,000 euros, 152,379 euros of which were provided by the Ministry of Public Works and Planning, through a program of grants to municipalities in the region to the adequacy of public property , targeting the restoration of the three main facades, their decks and skylights, restoring the original beauty of this neoclassical building, built between 1894 and 1896.
The event held yesterday, organized by the Cultural Association of Eagles Casino, was to celebrate the completion of other actions undertaken therein, which have been borne by the said association, with an investment of 100,000 euros.
Its president, Asensio Rodriguez, expressed last night before the media welcomed the recovery of one of the emblems of the architectural heritage of the town.
Similarly, the mayor of Eagles, Bartolome Hernandez, highlighted the strong hold that the Casino has always had within the cultural life of the city and encouraged the current policy to continue to pursue activities that complement the wide range that the municipality provides aquiline and visitors.
The conditioning of the property is one of the highlights in this performance, as it has been equipped with a new electrical system, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, projectors or an audio system for live performances, which together with the work of restoration in walls, ceilings and floors make it an historic building, but equipped with the latest technologies.
The Casino, which currently has nearly 200 members, is distributed in:
Basement: cellar, bar, toilets and store.
Ground floor: multipurpose room, cafeteria, billiards room, reading room, lobby and courtyard, the latter decorated with allegorical paintings of Murcia JC Sanchez, made in 1905.
Upstairs: exhibition hall, library, lounge scenic backdrops, multipurpose room and offices.
The massive act of welcoming the new Casino of Eagles ended with a performance by Pedro Noguera tenors and Antonio Magno, together with pianist Naira Perdu.
