The NGO "Manos Unidas" Sunday ended a week of solidarity actions, which have been developed in different points of Eagles.
The Councillor of Social Services consistory aquiline, Ana Maria Miñarro, visited yesterday morning that the NGO solidarity market installed throughout the weekend at the Plaza of Spain, where he was received by the delegate of Manos Unidas in the Parish San José, María Dolores García, and other members of this group.
During the past week, the NGO was active as the day of voluntary fasting, offering citizens bread sandwiches, and tomato oil in exchange for a small donation, with the intention of raising funds to help continue their social work.
Since 1960, the work of Manos Unidas has focused on two objectives: raising public awareness about the reality of the so-called Third World countries, inviting the social commitment to the world's poorest, and financing of development projects in Africa , America and Asia.
These are mostly focused on education, health, agriculture, social development and women.
