Township Weather conditions permit the introduction of early varieties of stone fruit, table grapes, and half subtropical citrus season
The Minister of Agriculture and Water, Antonio Cerdá, along with the mayor of Eagle, Bartolome Hernandez, closed last night the 'I Technical Seminar on Alternative Farming in the region of Eagles', in which he presented the possibilities of the municipality to the cultivation of early varieties of stone fruit, table grapes and citrus subtropical crops.
The owner of Agriculture and Water said "Eagles agriculture plays a very important and has been very receptive to the incorporation of new technologies."
He explained that the "globalization of markets requires us to incorporate new crops and different quality products, along with traditional local and like lettuce or tomato."
Cerda added that the contribution of new crop "part of a prior research, the results are transferred to farmers and farms".
The Minister stressed that the municipality of Eagles "is eligible for this type of culture that make farming more competitive."
He also asserted that "the training and qualifications is also required to be introducing new products in the markets, and the inclusion of young people to revitalize rural areas".
The Eagles weather, with more than 7,000 hectares of farmland, of which 69 percent is irrigated, makes possible the introduction of new varieties more competitive for local agriculture as early varieties of stone fruit, table grapes, citrus and pomegranate.
This area also allows the introduction of subtropical crops such as loquat, avocado, custard apple, mango and persimmon.
