The municipal building "The Placetón" Eagles hosts from today until next Thursday the First Course of Mental Health Volunteer, organized by the Association of Families and Persons with Mental Illness Eagles and Shire (AFEMAC) in collaboration with the Consistory aquiline.
The conference, involving more than a dozen volunteers, was inaugurated this morning by the mayor of Health and Social Services of the City of Eagle, Ana Maria Miñarro, and the president of AFEMAC, Dolores Morales.
The course, which seeks to educate participants to perform active voluntary psychosocial care centers, develops in time from 10:00 to 13:30 hours and is aimed at people aged between 18 and 65 years, with a minimum training 2 of the ESO Education Certificate or equivalent, showing a concern to improve their environment and are interested in the field of Mental Health.
The specific objectives of this conference are:
1 - To promote awareness and overcome social prejudices surrounding this disease.
2 - Know severe mental illness through a tight and realistic vision.
3 - Report on resources and services for people with mental illness.
4 - Provide an overview of the phenomenon of volunteering in care to group of people with mental illness.
5 - Provide strategies and skills necessary for conducting effective volunteering.
6 - Appreciate the importance of social networks in the welfare of people with severe mental disorders.
During the training period, attendees will participate in various conferences that offer mental health specialists and professionals AFEMAC and Social Services, with whom he also created debates.
