It took place yesterday afternoon in the Auditorium and Congress Palace "Infanta Elena", organized by the Diabetic Association of Eagles (ADIA).
The researcher and former Minister of Health, Bernat Soria, offered at a conference yesterday afternoon in the Auditorium and Congress Palace "Infanta Elena" under the title "The future of diabetes", organized by the Diabetic Association of Eagles (ADIA ).
The event was attended by the head of the local executive, Bartolome Hernandez, and the mayor of Health, Ana Maria Miñarro, accompanied by the president of ADIA, Juan Carlos Prisons, as well as other local authorities and various members of this group, which next to a large audience followed closely the interesting lecture given by Bernat Soria.
In a previous encounter with the media, the former minister said that in Spain there are three and a half million diabetics, of which 40% are undiagnosed, plus four million have impaired glucose tolerance, so that the diabetes becomes a public health issue.
Soria keen to stress that there has been much progress made in combating the disease, having better insulins and new management protocols, although, according to researcher, better prevention would help to stop the increasing number of patients and the high costs they entail for Spanish health, encrypting at six billion euros related costs of diabetes in our country.
Finally, Bernat praised the changes that have occurred in recent years in Eagles and thanked the Mayor and City Council of Health and the local government support provided to health-related associations.
For his part, the mayor thanked the Bernat Soria in this event organized by ADIA and handed a commemorative souvenir of their passage through Eagles.
