This past weekend saw the XXXI International Night Race "Mayor of Eagles", which ran through the streets of the urban center of the city, with the participation of about 570 athletes.
The race started around 18:20 hours, with the departure of prebenjamín category (female and male), followed by the modalities: baby, juvenile, childish, cadet, junior, junior, promises, senior, veterans and wheelchair , to a total of 8 tests, which ended around 22 hours with the trophy "Mayor of Eagles."
In the senior women (5,000 meters), the podium was as follows:
First: Yamilka Gonzalez of Club Puerto de Alicante, with a time of 18:01.
Second: Catia Santos, Portugal Garmin Club with a time of 18:12.
Third: Wafiya Benali, the Club Marathon Cartagena, with a time of 18:54.
In the senior men (10,000 meters), the podium was made up of:
First: Stephen Kiplagat, of Kenya, with a time of 31:30.
Second: Miguel Barzola, of Argentina, with a time of 31:39.
Third: Andrew Mico Villena, with a time of 31:44.
The awards ceremony was conducted by the mayor of Eagle, Bartolomé Hernández Giménez, and the Councillor for Sports, Diego Martínez Parra.
