Coinciding with the feast of St. Michael, the patron of railway pensioners residence Eagles, Sunday was conducted at the Centre an extensive program of activities which began at around half past nine and continued until the eight p.m..
The main events were attended by the mayor of Senior Citizens in the City of Eagle, Ana Maria Miñarro, which was received by the President of the Association for Railway Pensioners residences, Juan Sanchez, and other members of the board.
Miñarro toured the facility and see how this year could have built a new security gate to enter the premises, which is operational 24 hours a day, thus improving control and safety of the more than 150 residents who currently live in these units.
The events related to "Resident's Day" included also holding a concelebrated Mass, an exhibition of crafts they have made themselves partners of the Center and a fellowship meal, among other proposals.
The Association of Railway Pensioners residences was established in Madrid in 1931, being in April 1970 when the center was inaugurated by the Eagles that San Juan (Alicante) are the only nationwide from this group.
The residence is now home to all kinds of public, rail or not, depending on availability of places and with the only requirement to become a member of the Center.
