The works consist of the construction of a new surface course in the stretch that runs between Lorca and Puri, five miles in length, and repair service roads.
Thus, this will ensure safety on this stretch of highway, according to traffic volume.
The importance of the performance of the Ministry of Public Works and Planning is that the road has a daily intensity of 19,040 vehicles a day, so a large number of people will benefit from these improvements.
The Community has planned to award the work in the last quarter of the year and made available to users in early 2014, since its execution time is four months.
The road works RM-11 is part of the Plan of the Ministry to restore the roads affected by the earthquakes that occurred in Lorca on May 11, 2011.
In addition to the reconstruction of pavements, in some cases includes the construction of new roads, bridges, squares and sidewalks, and drainage elements.
This Plan, which began last year and completed in 2016, includes performances by more than 138 kilometers and, overall, is a regional investment of 48 million euros.
From the work defined in the scheme, the Department has now completed the repair of the roads RM D-7 (Lorca-The Alporchones), RM D-9 (Campico Lopez-RM 332) RM D-10 (Lorca-The Beacon), RM 701 (Lorca-The Parish) and RM C-14 (Lorca Zarcilla).
Currently under implementation are the works of regional roads RM C-22 (Baths of Fuensanta-Los Vlez) and MR D-12 (Lorca-Alcanara).
They are already awarded and about to start work on the D-11 (Camino Viejo del Puerto) and the RM D-26 (Station-RM 620) and RM 621 (Lorca-Puri).
For their part, are already pending adjudication tendered and the RM road D-16 (Puerto Lumbreras-Station) and in the hiring process, corresponding to the C-9 (Lorca-Totana Zarzadilla).
