The land that gave birth to the famous Actor aquiline, Francisco Rabal, is celebrating the tenth anniversary of the National Competition for Amateur Theatre that bears his name and which have passed some of the companies amateur in the country.
For this reason and because one of the awards given by the competition is that the winning work is represented at the Teatro Romea, this morning, the mayor of Eagle, Bartolome Hernandez, the council of Culture, Francisco Miguel Martínez, and the manager of the Auditorium and Congress "Infanta Elena", Antonio Llamas, presented in Murcia stage this important event.
Municipal representatives wanted to make clear "the enormous affection for the city of Eagle has felt and will always feel the actor and the whole family aquiline Rabal, since it has always been great ambassadors for the town".
Bartolome Hernandez and Francisco Miguel Martinez indicated that the National Amateur Theatre Contest will take place between October 19 and November 23 in the Auditorium and Congress Palace "Infanta Elena", being the 20-hour schedule for commissioning staging of all works.
The price of tickets to attend each of the four selected performances is 5 euros (3 for students), with the exception of the closing work, which will be held out of competition on November 23 , which costs 15 euros (10 for students), this being "The Star of Seville" by Lope de Vega, in charge of the company "Classical Theatre of Seville", under the direction of Alfonso Zurro.
Have also edited some vouchers to access the five works and the price is 20 euros (15 for students).
The seats can be purchased in advance at: Almeida Travel, Archaeological Museum and www.redentradas.com Eagles or the day of roles, from two hours earlier in the Auditorium box office and Congress "Infanta Elena".
Of the 70 works submitted to the contest, from different regions, the jury selected four to participate in this contest and four others remain in reserve, should there be any surprise to those chosen in the first instance, these being the following:
October 19: "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest," an adaptation of Gerardo Moreno on the novel by Ken Kesey, under the direction of Paul Rodriguez, in charge of the company "Theatre of Crisis" Cigales (Valladolid).
October 26: "The mark" by Anthony Shaffer, directed by Manuel Ochoa, in charge of the company "Taules Teatre" in Pinoso (Alicante).
November 2: "The school bobo", an adaptation of Antonio Alamo on the works of Lope de Vega, under the direction of José Luis Fernández, by the group "Theatre Anthropology of the University of Seville and In Vitro Theatre University of Jaén ".
November 9: "The Emigrants" by S.
Wrozek, under the leadership of Moses de las Heras, the company responsible for "The Candle TCE" of Talavera de la Reina (Toledo).
The Contest will award three prizes will be distributed among more than 2,000 euros in cash, and several trophies for outstanding performers, the best direction and set design or special distinction of the public, along with other references that could give the jury.
Finally, the mayor of Eagle Culture and the mayor thanked the collaboration of different commercial firms who have contributed this year to be able to stage the X National Amateur Theatre Contest "Paco Rabal", while encouraged all citizens to enjoy the best amateur theater Spain.
