Education Councilman City of Eagle, Francisco Clemente, held a meeting with the directors of the Centers for Education and Primary (CEIP) in the municipality.
During the meeting, held at the Consistory aquiline, it welcomed the start of the new academic year and addressed several issues related to truancy, the school program and awareness activities on violence against women.
The meeting was also attended by the mayor of Women, Maria Patrocinio Martinez, accompanied by municipal technicians dependent on this council, since it raised the development of various events related to the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, to be held on Wednesday, November 20, such as lectures and performances in which addresses this issue.
Another issue to be put on the table and which was attended by the local police sergeant, Andrew Lledo, was the new protocol for truancy prevention and cessation education system for students primary and secondary.
According to Francisco Clemente said "this prevention plan involves the local police to try to address truancy, a task that passes through the joint and coordinated work of all parties involved."
As already moved last September, if an agent detects the presence of a student out of school during school hours, it shall promptly inform the Social Services and move to center where he studied.
Once there, they shall refer those findings to the student's parents.
Finally, the Councillor for Education wanted to emphasize that soon will meet with the directors of the IES Eagles and representatives of parents' associations, as well as with other groups, in order to make clear lines of action and direct in this matter.
