To coincide with the eve of the commemoration of World Breast Cancer, the local board of the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC), in collaboration with the Department of Health of the City of Eagle, installed this morning an information stand at the Plaza of Spain, from where they carried out an awareness campaign aimed at the prevention and detection of the disease.
The mayor of Health itself, Ana Maria Miñarro, visit the information table today, along with other councilors of the Municipal Corporation, where he was received by the local president of the AECC, Dolores Perez, and several members of this group.
Once there, Miñarro stressed the importance of "women having mammograms attend, in order to detect the disease at a stage where it can be properly treated for a speedy recovery."
The council wanted to make a special appeal to women between 50 and 69 years old, so that these diagnostic tests are performed periodically, highlighting the importance of early detection in the event that an abnormality may exist.
Tomorrow Saturday, October 19, the Minister of Health will accompany the local board of the Spanish Association Against Cancer on a trip to Murcia, to participate in a regional act, organized to mark the World Day for Breast Cancer.
