The mayor of Eagle, Bartolome Hernandez, and the mayor of Social Services, Ana Maria Miñarro, visited last night the local Caritas facilities, where they develop their social work a group of women called "Bethany Home".
This group was born in the parish of San Jose and is formed by several friends, who are responsible for distributing weekly fresh food among the most disadvantaged of the municipality (vegetables, fruits, poultry, eggs and potatoes).
This food supplement, as they call it, comes from donations from local horticultural businesses, their own financial contributions and nearly forty partners, who already have.
As explained Conception Castelo, Bethany Home, about two hundred people, integrated into over thirty families come weekly to pick these fresh foods are a nutritional supplement product that delivers nonperishable Caritas, with whom they have a close collaboration and and with the City Social Services.
After the visit, the mayor of Eagle highlighted the extraordinary work done by this group of women and appealed to citizens to participate in their upcoming Christmas season.
