The Councillor for Education, Francisco Clemente, opened last weekend the local phase of the XXV Olympiad Mathematics of the Region of Murcia, held at the IES "Europe" Eagles, attended by over 200 students from 25 schools.
The activity was organized by the Society of Mathematics Education in the Region of Murcia, in collaboration with various organizations, including the Consistory aquiline is.
In it, students participated sixth of Elementary and Secondary Education second, in the municipalities of: Eagles, Aledo, Lorca, Mazarron, Puerto Lumbreras and Totana.
During the ceremony, Clement highlighted the efforts made by the IES Europe to host this event and highlighted the organizational capacity in getting students, parents and teachers from leaving the city with good taste.
The objectives pursued with the convening of this Mathematical Olympiad are to facilitate students to discover or increase penchant for solving problems and meeting intellectual challenges to overcome logical-mathematical nature, nurture relationships between teachers from different schools and different educational levels, to ensure participants a relaxed atmosphere in which the competitive aspects are merely a tool to achieve the above objectives, to get society's concerns math teachers, on the importance of this discipline in the everyday life, and show the more playful aspects of mathematical work.
