The mayor of Social Services, Ana María Miñarro last night visited the new facilities of Caritas in Eagles, where he developed his social work group of women called the Bethany Home.
On arrival, he was received by the local director of the NGO, Salvador Hernandez, as well as the members of this group.
This association was born in the parish of San José and is formed by a dozen friends, who are responsible for distributing weekly fresh food to the most deprived people in the municipality (vegetables, fruits, poultry, eggs and potatoes).
The products come from donations of horticultural businesses in the town, their own financial contributions and more than fifty patron members they have.
From Bethany Home, Conception Castelo and Juanita Carrasco said their recent move to new premises, located in present Caritas outbuildings, is allowing them to improve the service provided to citizens, attending every week about seventy families in need.
Meanwhile, Ana Maria Miñarro wanted to congratulate this group of women, for the wonderful work they do in Aguilas, and were presented with a grant from the Department of Social Services, for the purchase of food.
Finally, Miñarro highlighted the collaboration that the City has with all associations whose purpose is to help the disadvantaged, noting that the Consistory aquiline always be next to these groups.
