Forty people, divided into two groups, participate during the month of June in the "Active Program" promoted by the Ministry of Health and Social Policy, in collaboration with the aquiline Consistory and the various health centers of the town.
This activity, part of the Health Plan 2010-2015 and directed the sedentary population, is a community initiative to promote physical activity, self-care to promote health and encourage healthy habits.
The mayor of the City of Eagle Health, Ana María Miñarro, this morning visited the facilities of the sports center, which is being carried out this action.
The councilman explained that "health professionals are responsible for prescribing the right type of exercise for each patient, taking into account their types of diseases: hypertension, smoking, cholesterol, overweight, etc ...".
Miñarro explained that the objective of the program, conducted under the supervision of a licensed Physical Education, is to encourage sport as alternative "medicine" to prevent possible diseases or susceptible to confront others, accompanied by exercise, can help improve quality of life of patients.
The participants, aged between 35 and 65 years old, attending thirty sessions of one hour, to be held three days a week, extending over a quarter.
