Eduardo Madina and José Antonio Pérez Tapias reach 27% and 14% respectively |
With 59% of the votes cast, the militancy of the PSOE of Eagles has confidence in the Spaniard Pedro Sánchez candidate to direct the immediate future of the party founded by Pablo Iglesias.
Meanwhile, the other two candidates to fill the General Secretariat, Eduardo Madina and Jose Antonio Perez Tapias have obtained 27% and 14% respectively.
The General Secretary of the Socialist aquiline, Mari Carmen Moreno, has welcomed the high turnout of the entire membership on a day that he described as "historic".
He also stressed that election day has passed normally, thanking the work of their peers and the commitment of the members, for the first time in the 135 year history of the party, have been able to choose their direct vote the next PSOE leader.
