Eagle celebrated the feast of Our Lady of Carmen, patron saint of fishermen, with a program of events which began last night, at the door of the parish is named after the revered Virgin.
The first to honor him were members of the titular band Columbine Musical Patronage "Francisco Díaz Romero," which offered a mass serenade-concert, under the direction of Juan Rojo Garcia, attended by different members of the municipal corporation and numerous citizens.
This morning, the mayor of Eagle, Bartolomé Hernández, along with the Minister of Education, Culture and Universities, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, and the larger pattern of the fishermen, Domingo Diaz, attended together with other local and regional authorities to Mass Fishermen that has taken place in Lonja del Puerto.
The activities in honor of the patron saint of fishermen continue this afternoon, with a Mass and the transfer of the image of the Virgen del Carmen on the streets of the urban center of the city, ending with the traditional maritime procession which will involve different vessels of the fishing fleet in the locality.
The program of events will end with a popular dance, by the Nostalgia Orchestra, which will run from 22 pm in the Plaza de Antonio Cortijo, with free admission.
