About 4,000 students and Primary Education begin the new academic year in Águilas, said this morning the Councillor for Education, Francisco Clemente, during his visit to different schools in the city, where he could see how developed this first day of class after the summer holidays.
High school students will begin on Monday, making the total number of students enrolled in the town reach 5,600.
Of these, 349 are incorporated for the first time to the education system, particularly those born in 2011.
After the visit, he emphasized Clemente improvement works have been carried out in all the schools of the locality in which they have invested more than 75,000 euros, all performed during the holiday period so they do not affect the normal functioning of classes.
These works have focused on the adequacy of the facility and its surrounding areas, highlighting the actions related to: enlargement and painting classrooms, cleaning facades, patios and tiered arrangement, yard work and signage, construction of new toilets or work sewage, among other actions.
On the other hand, the mayor influenced the strengthening of educational programs such as Eco-Schools Driver Education and Coastlines, this course will have important new features, as well as improved support for kindergarten students and those from families at risk of social exclusion.
Finally, Francisco Clemente stressed that centers Eagles join the new educational system, LOMCE and to Basic Training and other teachings that are included in the axes of the regional strategy '+ Educational Quality + Success School'.
